ExGraft by PECA Labs represents the latest advancements in vascular graft technology that is designed to fit, grow and last. The exGraft is a synthetic vascular graft built on PECA Labs’ proprietary polymer processing platform that can be permanently expanded .Its the only balloon expandable ePTFE graft available worldwide with an innovative patented technology which helps it to grow along with the physiological needs of a growing child .The design is such that it offers enhanced biocompatibility reduced thrombogenicity and enables post-operative expansion up to 140 percent with the use of oversized balloon catheters. Post-operative expansion is designed to allow for increasing graft diameter, which may enable the graft to match growth in pediatric populations or help to avoid restenosis (narrowing) in adults. That’s why it’s ideal for the pediatric surgeons to help them to avoid redos surgeries in many neonates and infants thus offering greater flexibility in treating patients. The exGraft received initial CE Mark clearance and 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) in 2019 for use as a vascular prosthesis and has gained traction within pediatrics, being employed in more than 20 U.S. pediatric hospital centers. It has been implanted in more than 2,000 pediatric patients to date.
